I haven’t been posting to my blog since going into lockdown. I have however been playing a lot of Dreams so I have quite a bit to talk about.
Firstly I would like to give out a big thank you to all the entrants in my Dreamiverse Song Contest. When I saw that the Eurovision Song Contest had been cancelled this year, I thought maybe we could hold our own contest for people to share their musical talents. There is not enough attention paid to the music tools and musicians in the Dreamiverse, and recently Mm have been removing features and restricting abilities due to abuse of the tools by non-musicians. It was great to hear all the different styles of music from those who took part. I was really pleased that songs were entered despite the 15 second recording limits, and the standard was pretty good throughout. Congratulations to byvsen and leklack for their winning entry for Sweden. I loved it so much I made an English translation of it. You can hear both versions here:
My next big #dreamstogether activity was Dreammay 2020. This was a make something in Dreams every day of May challenge using a pre-prepared prompt list. I have been planning this since September last year and had my prompt list all ready to go. It will be interesting to see if I get as many participants next year when they arent forced to be at home. Based on Inktober which has been running for a few years now, and after a successful “dry run” (so to speak) with the Inktober prompt list in 2019 I was hoping for a similar turnout. I got quite a few more taking part, and hopefully next year some more. Its a great way to improve your skills, discover techniques, and get you making assets for the community.
My Dreams with LadylexUK YouTube channel reached 5k subscribers which is pretty great. I am still making chart videos, pick of the week as well as the tutorials. So visit if you havent already. I’d love to hit my 7k yearly target for subscribers.
Dreamschool has gained a couple of helpers. Thank you Abbie and Eddie. I think you can see already that more tutorials are being added to the database as a result. Plenty of room for more helpers if you are interested.
My personal portfolio has been added to during lockdown – though I have been concentrating more on video production and the two dreamstogether activities. You can check out what I have made this year here
